Re: vfd to spindle cable ?

You want CY cable and it can be found at most suppliers, just find the best price.

When it comes to inverters there's more to it than the motor current so my advice would be, go to this...

    Re: uc300eth vfd connectios

Either send a pwm signal from a ucbb output- then put this signal into a pwm to analog converter- then that goes into vfd.

Or do what I've done. An idc16 cable from analog port on uc300 into an...

Re: How many I/O and what are they for.???

    Now it's OUTPUTS.

You tend not to use as many OUTPUTS as you do INPUTS which is why you'll often see cards with 5-IN 2-OUT or 12-IN 6-OUT etc.
OUTPUTS tend to only handle low currents so they...

    Re: uc300eth vfd connectios

Depends on the VFD, often VFD as 2 sources for controlling the speed, Voltage or Current. usually marked V1 or A1 You want V1 for voltage and the Gnd goes to ACM.

The other two wires you speak of...

    Re: uc300eth vfd connectios

I'd be looking at the RS485/ModBus controller (available for UCCNC and Mach3) - at least to see if it's viable for your VFD. It avoids some of the problems with analogue noise, linearity, etc.

    Re: uc300eth vfd connectios

Ok well, I've never used this BOB before so I could be wrong but I've had a quick look and I don't think you can take the Analog Outputs from the Uc300 through this BOB. It doesn't have a 16 pin...

    Re: chinese atc spindle ?

HSK63 is bit on the large side for a router but it will certainly do the job, thou tool holders are expensive compared to say BT40. For instance, I just looked on Cutwel site and HSK60F ER32 collet...

    Re: chinese atc spindle ?

The UC300ETH with UB1 breakout board is a good combination and will work with both Mach3/4 and UCCNC. This will give you enough I/O to do whatever you like.

The CSlabs controllers are very good...

    Re: chinese atc spindle ?

Well, wouldn't worry about the gantry not being suitable because it's more than strong enough. However, because the rails don't go all the way to the ends then you would have to use a wine rack type...

    Re: chinese atc spindle ?

I've not used the air-cooled but I have the Water-cooled version from this seller, in fact, I've just fit 3Kw BT30 model to a machine.

They come with a Fulling 3.7Kw VFD which was a bit of a bear...

We should consider that he used a VMC-15 to machine stuff for it and has what we might consider an unlimited budged though ;-)

Re: 3 axis cnc for sheet material

The machine in your picture has a very low gantry. If you could make yours even lower that would improve it by leaps and bounds.

Do not let pictures of machines with huge Z axis clearance persuade...

BUILD LOG: Re: 3 Axis CNC router

It is impossible to say what size of motors you require without giving details re your machine. It might be a good idea to start your own build log to keep all the questions in one place.
