  2. Re: Help needed to connect my VFD to the AXBB controller

    No that will be fine.
  3. Re: Help needed to connect my VFD to the AXBB controller

Nope, that diagram shows the analogue output AO1 referenced to 5V0, so you need to connect 5V0 to ACM (which I believe you said you already did). (or connect 5V0 and 24V0 together).

    You could try...

Right, just tried a quick experiment - I have some 2N7002's in the shed so hooked one up to a signal generator set to 1Hz (though I...

    Hi Doddy

I see you changed your mind
    dont worry
your original reply just pointed out we use the technique that we are happy with

Re: Best place to buy Spindle and VFD?

    Charlie,
When you do look at the cooling I found that using larger diameter water pipe greatly inreased the water flow from the pump I bought. The spindle fittings take 5mm id pipe but I get double...

You should also take a look at these spindle motors:

Re: Best place to buy Spindle and VFD?

That looks like it is similar to the one I linked to. 1.5mm is more that enough but make sure that you securely clamp the cable to the Z axis so that there is no strain on the plug as if the plug...

BUILD LOG: Re: Well here goes... Aluminium frame router design

5mm distance from the hard stop will function fine as the motors stop very quickly. If it was a home switch you might want a bit more as the machine over travels a bit.
Only thing to think about is...

    Re: Opto isolator question

you should be able to connect the BOB directly to the FET

    25991

the 2N7000 would be an alternative FET in a smaller TO92 case

    Re: Opto isolator question

going by figure 6 on page 5 of the pdf data
I would aim for a minimum of 5V

while the absolute maximum ratings for Vgs is +/- 30V
I would limit the maximum to about 20 V

... or simplify the whole thing and bin off the board, any isolation and just use the mosfets. What’s the Vgs(on) for the details?

    Re: Opto isolator question

looking at the photo of the opto-isolator board
it has 3K resistors fitted as shown on the chinese circuit diagram
so the output current is even more limited

    with a 3K or 3.3K resistor between...
  16. Re: Proximity wiring for limit switches, safety relay and a contactor

It should not run that hot
double check your not connecting 24V DC to a 24V AC coil !

which contactor do you have ?

    Yes my bad :shame:
  18. Re: Proximity wiring for limit switches

your wiring of the PNP N/C switches to the AXBB_E looks correct to me

having both the + & - terminals of the AXBB_E opto-isolator inputs free to wire as required
makes it easy to use the ...
