You can still get the 100W Halogen filament strip lights they use in work lights at places like Toolstation. Would these be OK? It is only a resistive load you need. John - What do you think ?

Puller centre distance isn't an exact science.
The most accurate way to set tension is by harmonics aka you ping the belt and measure the frequency at which it resonates.

Doesn't matter, average taperlock will grip a given size plus or minus a post code.
That's one of the saving graces about them, they will fit to damaged shafts. -

That's a clear example of trying to cut faster than the machine, or tool, is good for. The wavy lines could also be caused by severe resonance ... either way a finishing pass would have sorted it...

The ripples are very bad chatter from cutting deep or a weak machine flexing. These often happens when roughing out and why you should always have a finish pass if it matters.
