Re: Hi looking to change 3 phase motor for a 240v, any help much appreciated
As I suspected, it's a dual speed motor, which are usually only designed for a single voltage.
IIRC it'll have 9 wires in the terminal box, which depending on how they're connected, set the speed.... -

Re: Hi looking to change 3 phase motor for a 240v, any help much appreciated
Might be worth having a look under the plate over the connections on geared motor to see if delta/star is possible. While it doesn't say it's dual-voltage, it doesn't appear to say that is...

Re: A right balls up with CJ variable speed control drive wiring
Steve if he's unsure and you don't want to risk starting it then remove Red blk wires and test the output with meter. It should change voltage with each speed position.

Re: A right balls up with CJ variable speed control drive wiring
Steve I think it might help if you post some good pictures of the inside of the box and say if it is 3 phase or single.

Re: A right balls up with CJ variable speed control drive wiring
Hi Steve,
Do you have the model number of the speed controller. I can get a diagram for the CJ15, but anything else is difficult as CJ appears to have gone belly up.
Cheers,

Re: How tricky would this be to machine? I guess a Triac is not up to the job!
I like the idea, but it is a boring (not a deliberate pun) video. I would bore a big hole in the pallet and use a bullnose in the tailstock to position and hold the workpiece while you clamp it down....

Re: How tricky would this be to machine? I guess a Triac is not up to the job!
Have you considered machining a pair of aluminium soft jaws for your mill vice? It's a great way to accurately hold oddly shaped parts in the mill.
Machine a pocket across the two jaws that... -

Re: How tricky would this be to machine? I guess a Triac is not up to the job!
Personally i would look at away to mill it if possible. Reason is: its hard to define how that clamp was manufactured in the first place. There is a chance it could drop forged and if it is, it...

Re: How tricky would this be to machine? I guess a Triac is not up to the job!
Looking at the dimensions you give and trying to scale off the photograph, you are going to leave around 0.8mm wall thickness at the hinge point, or you are going to need to move the axis of the new...

Re: Any ideas please cutter shank getting hot in festool router that seems real nice?
Steve. When you ran it up was you cutting anything with it? If so the cutter could have been loose in the collet and that would have made it hot. Just a thought.

Re: Any ideas please cutter shank getting hot in festool router that seems real nice?
Sounds like the bearing is on its way out!
When they go the collet end gets very hot!
Put new bearings in should only be about £15.00

Have you thought about using stainless dome nuts that you would fit on a cylinder head, maybe thin them down a bit. -
