Hello all, sorry not been on here for ages (years it seems!!) My CNC Router has been working away successfully for a long time now making RC plane parts and plastic parts for work...still not...

I have one of the cheap spray mist systems you get on ebay here and it works really well for ali on my router, I use the air only when cutting Acetal to help clear the chips...

Looks like it would be ok but I'm saying that with a huge caveat as I've no experience of it. I also used a different epoxy to the West systems one (Reactive Resins SYNTAC EPAFD with the SYNAMIN 200...

    Re: RC Brushless spindle

The problem is with 12V and 270kV you'll only have max 3240 RPM which is from a practical point of view too low for Ali, Plastic and MDF, well technically it's not but the feeds will be very slow. ...

Hi there! All those components look good to me. The motor is the same size as mine and the other bits look fine. How are you powering the spindle? Any details on how you're doing the...

BUILD LOG: Re: 3 Axis CNC router

Joe, that's one mighty fine looking CNC machine, I've enjoyed the build so far and now looking forward to seeing the first chips flying in the not too distant future!!
  10. Re: Newbie looking at 6040 (China CNC) for polypropylene 15mm sheet

The switch mode ones don't take back EMF from the drivers when the machine is decelerating. If you make a linear PSU with some nice big caps then this is best, and you can make it to the ideal...

Have a look at https://www.directplastics.co.uk/engineering-plastics/ they have lots of plastic stuff there [emoji2]

I love machining Acetal, it chips beautifully gives a nice smooth finish. Cant comment on the Ting G controller but if this is potentially for business then I'd build your own control panel, make...

Re: First cut in aluminium. Disaster.

Best way is to do what you've done, try...ask...listen then try again, ultimately only you'll know what works for your machine best which you'll find by trial and error. You'll snap bits, ruin work...

The cyclone cones you get off eBay are good, just hooked one up to my machine and works brilliantly, I'd highly recommend one Mike.

Put a cyclone in before the CamVac (just because I had it rather than need it) and its brilliant!! Takes out about 95% (guess) of all crap, fine dust as well....
