The bottom 3 switches of the top bank are labelled 'motor curr'. Also 2 switches labelled 'resn' I'd guess are microstep setting?
More intriguing are the 'setup' trimmers for accel, etc.Last edited by irving2008; 14-08-2013 at 11:35 PM.

Hi Nik
The 6400 is a programmable motion controller we have some of the old 6200 which I have programmed, not really any good for CNC.
You will have no problem running the drives from a breakout board.
I have some of the same drives which I removed from decommissioned equipment at work, I haven't had time to play around with them yet.
Is there anything in particular you want to know about the drives?

well as they had their own mains connection i did think i wouldnt need a big transformer or power supply to run my motors, thus an easier way to supply each motor, being a newbie i was hoping it was a simple act of connecting to the right break out board and they would all work in harmony, but as i didnt give anything for them its no loss,
what actually comes out of a break out board to in turn make the motor driver do what it doesLast edited by DrNik; 15-08-2013 at 09:21 PM.

Just a 5 volt signal, the direction signal is either high or low which determines which way the motor turns and the step signal is a pulse (square wave).
If I get time this weekend I will connect one of the drives I have to a motor and have play then let you know how I get on.

thanks andy thats great, but.........well it gets worse.......... popped in to see a mate today, id mentioed i was going to build a cnc plasma and should he come across anything keep it for me, well.............
ive got 5 decent sized machines, was in excess of £125,000 each, all with 2 heads that machine 2 items at the same time, so ive got 10 lots of z axis setups, everything to run them as a stand alone system, even temperature controllers to keep them warm/cool, i'll list everything one ive managed to strip just the one, but take a look at the pics and see you guys think
