No, there's no problem using just one power supply. A single power supply is preferable, imo.
Higher voltage gives you more speed, not more torque.

Open Windows Task Manager and monitor CPU usage while it's running.
See if the CPU usage spikes when the machine hesitates. -

While there are plenty of programs that convert the various shades of gray to different heights, this really doesn't work well with normal photos or drawings.

If it's burning, then RPM is too high, or feedrate is too low. Either causes excess heat, which dulls tools faster.
I'd make 2 passes at 6mm per pass, too. -

Because 2D drawings and 2.5D CAM can be far faster, if you know what you are doing. 99% of what I do on my router are done with 2D CAD, where I can draw and create toolpaths faster than just creating...

1) I think that I'm the only one that offers a UCCNC screenset. It basically just adds probing, and auto zero macros.
As UCCNC is constantly adding new features, my screenset may not support all... -

Fwiw, I've had a couple 2010 users with CS Labs controllers that couldn't get the macros to work. I've even redid the macros to use CS Labs M31 probe, and it still didn't seem to help them. Not sure...

I forgot to mention that you can use that combination with Mach3, and there's also a Mach4 plugin being developed as well.
So you have 3 control software options available with the UC300ETH-UB1. -

$320 includes the UC300ETH. The UB1 itself is $180. Yes, you can use an MB2, but it would require a 5LPT motherboard for the UC300ETH, which adds $40, and makes it the same price.

Here in the US, Hitachi is the preferred brand for use with Chinese spindles. Lots of people are using them.
I went with the Huanyang for $135. The Hitachi is about $350. -
