Getting back to the thread origin. The Community Shed concept seems a great idea to me.
However I have been in the local engineering world (pre retirement) for about 40 years and have never met anyone else in my vicinity (central south coast) who is into hobby Cad/Cam/Cnc. Would be pleased to communicate with any one should they exist. With a view to forming a loose community to share info and resources, perhaps even purchasing power?
[Robin. If I say "Henly Park Boom Boom" is that you?]

A community shed sounds like a good idea, something like the old Reading Rooms but with tools. When you think of those Reading Rooms I'll bet they were great, there was one beside our junior school, it had a full size snooker table and all mod cons.
