    Why would you buy one of these over a 35 or 40W tube that is supplied as a spare for the desktop machines ?

    Genuine query as I'm looking at maybe getting some form of laser for marking a job that may come up.

    I have no idea as you could do so much more with 40W for less money (£280). That seems really expensive for only a 4W laser. I guess it's a bit easier to set up than the CO2 lasers.

    I'd quite like one, but I don't tend to do much with plastics so I don't know how much I would use it.
