Re: Vevor A2-8055 spindle amp settings
The "amps" setting is simply the limit on the maximum current and is intended to protect the motor from overcurrent during overload. More important is to get the speed and voltage correct. Usually...

Interesting problem. I assume you are machining plastic? Not something I do much of but perhaps there are known / effective countermeasures. At the machine level, I expect they would amount to adding...

Re: Looking to build another cnc specificially for solid surface carving
The toothed belts on my Novamill have no signs of wear-induced backlash after 20 odd years. Timing belts are much easier to fit than gears too. But I agree that finer pitch ballscrew and direct...

Re: Looking to build another cnc specificially for solid surface carving
Good gear selection would minimise the backlash and a few months of use will quite likely introduce some wear to a toothed belt system. My choice would be a finer pitch leadscrew with direct drive...

Re: Looking to build another cnc specificially for solid surface carving
Do you mean gears? Using ballscrews the last thing you want is backlash in gears. But reduction using toothed belt would be fine. For precision better to use a bit more mechanical reduction than...

Re: Looking to build another cnc specificially for solid surface carving
I would suggest that the first two questions are asking the same thing in a roundabout way.It comes down to how many steps per mm and a finer pitch with no gears will move the same distance as a...

Here's section of THK's literature with a good reference of Bearing block models and bearing part numbers.

There is nothing wrong with the BK-type housing, it's the correct component for the job, it's just that the cheap ones come with crappy bearings. So just replace the bearings with angular contact...

I personally would go with the pulley and htd belt as that can help stop resonance.
I also noted that you don't have all the bolts in the bearing blocks and as BeagleBrainz has pointed out the... -

That looks like it's a bit more than just a NVR switch. The circuit board looks like it's got some kind of speed controller and/or soft start built in.

Those terminals look like just two terminals with two tags on each. Look carefully at where they are rivetted into the top cap - they are probably a single piece of metal folded.

Re: Rotary axis, z lift before rotate query
G53 is working in MACHINE coordinates so it will send it to the HOME position if set to Z0. Don't confuse it with Z0 in work coordinates.

Re: Rotary axis, z lift before rotate query
The important bit I think you've missed is the G53 which switches to machine, not work, coordinates for the G00 Z0 move. So the machine should go up to highest Z, irrespective of work coordinates....

Try this for the start/end code. But just know that the first move will send the Z-axis to Z0 (or whatever value you enter for Z) for every program.
You could use the same line further down in one... -

Yes, the VFD should be directly wired to the motor.
To switch to delta, all you need to do is spin the link bars from horizontally across the bottom three terminals, to linking pairs of terminals...
